100 Night Comfort Adjustment

Above the support layer in your mattress is called the “comfort layer”.  This consists of either soft, medium, or firm padding and will be the main factor in determining a mattress’s overall firmness.  For a firm comfort level, firm padding will be in the comfort layer.  For medium, medium padding or a combination of firm and soft will be present.  Soft will have soft, and so on. During a Comfort Adjustment, Tampa Mattress Makers will reupholster the comfort layer of your mattress, bringing the comfort level closer to where it needs to be. The look of the mattress after the adjustment will change very little, it at all.  The important change will happen just under the top fabric.

This reupholstery process at our factory includes the following steps:

1. Exterior cover is sanitized and disinfected.
2. Binding tape and top panel of the mattress are removed.
3. Replacement, removal, and/or addition of standard upholstery padding – based on existing construction and preferred firmness level.
4. Top panel is reapplied with new binding tape, sewn closed and air cleaned as it was prior to the adjustment.

• We offer two options on either end of the comfort spectrum (firmer or softer):

1. 1. If you’d like the change to be just a bit firmer or softer, we can make it slightly firmer or softer. In this case we may only need to add, remove or replace one layer of padding.
   2. If you prefer a much different feel, we can make it much firmer or softer – to the best of our ability.  This job may require removal and replacement of all the upholstery padding, depending on the design of the mattress.

*When altering the comfort level of an existing mattress, it’s important to keep in mind that there are limitations. Although we are skilled at replicating a variety of comfort preferences, extreme changes from one end of the spectrum to the other may not be physically possible. Using the tools and materials available to us, we will do the very best we can.

• All of our current mattresses that have a steel coil system. This would exclude any all-foam mattress models. 
• This program is not available on any Factory Select models, closeouts, or floor samples.

• All labor and material costs associated with the Comfort Adjustment are provided FREE OF CHARGE by Tampa Mattress Makers ($150 – $300 on average). Our goal is for this to be a completely free service.
• All we ask from our customers is to safely transport their mattress to and from our factory in Clearwater, where we can perform the work accordingly.

How should I get my mattress to the factory?

1. Transporting in your vehicle.
   • We will work with you to schedule a convenient drop-off day and time to bring in the mattress. *To ensure the necessary time is set aside to perform the adjustment, we schedule a week in advance for the day of the service.  A protective bag for transport is highly recommend and we can provide one to you, free of charge.
   • Your mattress will be adjusted and ready for pickup the next business day.  The mattress must rest for at least 12 hours before handling or maneuvering it.
   • If your vehicle isn’t ideal for transporting the mattress, some of our customers find it easiest to rent a small U-Haul or pickup truck.
2. Hire a local moving or delivery company to handle the transportation.
   • The Tampa Bay area has numerous moving companies that would be happy to take care of the transportation to and from our factory.  We always recommend Shawn & Shawn Moving company out of Largo, as they are very good.  However, feel free to use any company that you wish – as long as the mattress is taken care of along the way.
   • Any transportation charges or fees associated with a Comfort Adjustment are the responsibility of the customer and should be paid to the moving/delivery company directly.  Tampa Mattress Makers offers the Comfort Adjustment at no charge to their customers and will not accept any payment.
