The Westchase Extra-Firm is our firmest mattress. Up to 1,283 individually wrapped coils for support. In the comfort layer, we include two layers of extra-firm, 2.8 density HD upholstery to lay the body flat with very little compression. This mattress features excellent support from up to 1,283 tempered steel Bolsa Coils®️ that run from edge to edge. Since each coil is connected to the other with fabric, motion transfer across the mattress is minimized. That means less disturbance when your partner gets in and out of bed.
Around the perimeter are firmer coils, called Quantum Edge, which produces a stronger and firmer sitting area. This steel edge is a substantial upgrade from foam encasement (used by many other brands) and will provide better edge support for a longer period of time.
Above the support system is 2″ of extra-firm, super high-density upholstery padding. At 2.8 LB weight and 50 ILD firmness, this padding will lay the body flat and change very little over time. If you’re interested in a firm overall comfort level with minimal cushion, the Westchase Extra-Firm is definitely one to consider.
At the very top is 1″ of luxurious quilting, providing the classic look and feel you’d expect from a handcrafted mattress. A blend of cotton & Tencel fibers will keep air flowing efficiently throughout the night.

Firmness and strength from both the support system and upholstery padding will provide an extra-firm feel. It’s not as hard as a brick, but a majority of individuals would find this firm with only a tiny bit of cushion at the top. This is a great choice for back and stomach sleepers that prefer the feeling of laying “on” the mattress instead of “in” it.
